Concern:
“While many are worrying about filling their gas tanks, many others around the world are struggling to fill their stomachs,…” declares Robert Zoellick, President of the World Bank. In just three years, the price of staple foods like wheat, corn and rice has almost doubled, and food prices overall have risen 83 percent. If left unchecked, global food shortages could set the world back seven years in the fight against extreme poverty and global disease.
