Beware the ides of March!

So warned a soothsayer to Caesar in Act One of The Life and Death of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare.

That’s just another way of saying March 15th.

In the ancient Roman calendar, the term ides was used for the 15th day of the months of March, May, July, and October, and the 13th day of the other months .
